IAI-JUTSU: An older form of IAI-DO, in which the sword was drawn from its sheath and used to strike an opponent in a single movement. Whereas IAI-DO is always practiced alone, Iai-jutsu was used in fighting situations against an opponent or opponents. (See also Iai-do article)
